KATE'S BIOGRAPHY

Kate EvansMy name is Kate Evans and I work with individuals and businesses as a coach, facilitator and trainer. I believe that people can and do make positive changes in their lives but sometimes need help along the way.

I have been coaching people for over 10 years at BT, the BBC and privately. People come to me for all sorts of reasons. Often they are facing a time of change or transition – new family, new job, redundancy or divorce. Sometimes, people come because they feel “out of sorts” or vaguely dissatisfied with some aspect of their life currently. I work with each individual or team in the way that is right for them and their situation.

I apply my knowledge and experience in a highly interactive process to help you to gain clarity, remove barriers and build your confidence until you can move forward to achieve your goals.

I also work with businesses to facilitate for meetings or help get the most out of events such as strategy reviews and team days.

I am currently doing a lot of training work with young people helping them to gain skills such as time management that they will need in the workplace and at home.

My qualifications:

  • Qualified NLP practitioner
  • BBC trained coach
  • Trained in the GROW model of coaching with Myles Downey at the School of Coaching
  • BBC trained creative facilitator
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing
  • Associate of the Royal College of Science
  • Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts
  • Trustee of the Shoreditch Town Hall

My Background:

I studied physics at university before deciding that I would rather work with people than concepts. I then went to work for an accountancy firm (briefly) which taught me that different organizations definitely have different characters and that I needed to work in a more people oriented business!  So I settled down working for BT where I did a variety of jobs including product management, marketing and change management.  My most enjoyable role was to design ways in which technology could be used to help children with special needs. From BT, I moved to join United Business Media leading a team to expand their publishing sector into online markets.

As I progressed from a junior to a senior manager, I also learned a lot about working with and leading teams. Leading and motivating people – both those who worked for me and those I needed to influence became a large part of my job and one which I enjoyed a great deal and was good at. Increasingly, coaching and training became a focus of my work and brought me to a job in the BBC’s Training and Development department where I learned the art of creative facilitation and was trained in the BBC’s own method of coaching.

Currently, I run my own training, coaching and facilitation business which I enjoy greatly. I am married and have a young son.
